First Photo Edited in Lightroom
This photo is of an abandoned church in Chackbay, Louisiana named Little Zion Baptist Church. It was taken on my friend's camera (Harper Levy Photography!), a MUCH better camera than my little point and shoot. I edited it to increase the exposure (because the sun was behind the building); I also added saturation and tweaked a few other things.
Here is the photo before:
And here it is after Lightroom:
So far, I'm very happy with it!

Hullo!
While I would love comments on my work and suggestions to make it better, I'm also starting this blog in order to keep myself motivated (shouldn't be hard to do!) as I continue to practice photography and (hopefully) become better.
I use a Canon Powershot A590 IS that I've had for about 3-4 years now. I still find new ways to use it or new functions seemingly every time I have a picture outing. In the past I've used iPhoto to post process, but I am currently (and rather impatiently) waiting for Adobe Lightroom to arrive in the mail (darn FedEx!).
Speaking of outings, if anyone knows of any interesting landscapes or architecture in the Baton Rouge area, please give me a heads up!
There are a few things that I would like to try with my photography, and some things I would just like to be better at doing, so these things will be the primary focus of this blog. I suppose I'll make a list:
Some subjects I would like to do soon include the Mississippi Bridge at sunset/night... Some more sunset and night shots on LSU's campus... And Avery Island...
Please suggest more locations! I know I have more on my mind that I'll add later, but they've escaped my brain for now.
Happy Viewing and many future interesting blogs!

There are a few things that I would like to try with my photography, and some things I would just like to be better at doing, so these things will be the primary focus of this blog. I suppose I'll make a list:
- learn to use Lightroom (!)
- night photography, particularly night landscapes/cityscapes
- portraiture
- composition
- lighting
- action shots and experimenting with shutter speeds
